Compression socks for flights & travel
Long flights and road trips mean hours of sitting still, which is exactly when your circulation needs the most help. Compression socks are one of the most common travel accessories recommended for exactly this reason.
- Why it matters: Sitting for extended periods slows blood flow in your legs, which can lead to swelling, stiffness, and in rare cases, contributes to blood clot risk (deep vein thrombosis, or DVT) — especially on flights over 4 hours.
- Which level to choose: Our 15–20 mmHg Everyday level is a comfortable choice for most travelers. If you have a higher personal risk factor for DVT or a doctor-recommended level, our 20–30 mmHg Medical Grade may be more appropriate.
- Travel tips: Put them on before you sit down for your flight or drive, not after your legs already feel swollen. Get up and walk the aisle periodically if you're able to, and stay hydrated.
This is general educational information, not medical advice. If you have a history of blood clots or a diagnosed clotting disorder, talk to your doctor about travel precautions.
